The trailers and promos for Chicago director Rob Marshall’s upcoming adaptation of the musical Nine, seem doggedly determined not to let you know what the film is about. This new trailer is just the same, although it does feature some nifty footage, a different song to the ones we’ve heard before, and the unusual sight of Kate Hudson warbling about her love of Italian cinema. Though you won’t know it from the trailer, the muscial, based on Fellini’s semi-autiobiographical 8 1/2, is about a film director (Daniel Day-Lewis) caught between the many women in his life, who include the rather stellar female cast of Marion Cottillard, Penelope Cruz, Sophia Loren and Judi Dench (all Oscar-winners), Kate Hudson and Fergie.
