Following the first two Underworld movies and Live Free Or Die Hard, director Len Wiseman’s star certainly rose a lot in Hollywood. Since then, while his name has been attached to numerous films, so far he hasn’t actually made anything new. Now there’s a new title to add to the list of movies he’s got in pre-production – Nocturne (although THR also reports that the film is currently untitled, so they need to make up their minds).
Fox Searchlight has bought the pitch for the project, which is about a group of people who survive the end of the world, and then have to try and work out what the hell happened to make the apocalypse come. The film is at a pretty early stage at the moment, as currently there aren’t even any writers attached, so who knows when Wiseman will get around to directing it.
In fact, by the time the film is ready to go into production, audiences may well have tired of the end of the world, as we’ll already have had the likes of 2012, The Road, The Book Of Eli and Priest by then. Although the apocalypse is popular at the moment, it’s difficult not to feel that we may tire of it very soon.
With Wiseman also attached to everything from Atlantis Rising to Shrapnel, there’s no news on where Nocturne will sit in the shuffle, although with it being more than two years since his last movie and with no start date announced for his next one, he really ought to make another movie pretty soon, which he’s still hot in Hollywood.
