Foxx And Lawrence Together For New Comedy – Jamie and Martin are putting their dresses on

9th November 2009 By Tim Isaac

Why do they keep letting Martin Lawrence star in films? I just don’t get it, but some people in Hollywood must be under the impression that he’s good, as Variety reports that Screen Gems has just picked up a pitch called Sheneneh and Wanda, for him and Jamie Foxx to star in.

Interestingly though, it’s a project the duo has cooked up themselves, based on a movie parody trailer, called Skank Robbers, that they created for the BET Awards. Foxx will now write the film version, with him and Lawrence producing – apparently they’ve wanted to work together on a film for years. Perhaps not surprisingly the Skank Robbers title got dropped, and so the now more soberly named Sheneneh and Wanda will follow two independent women who decide to become bank robbers.

And yes, this does mean we’ll have Foxx and Lawrence dressed up as women, as the characters are based on ones they played early in their careers, which then came together for the BET parody. Lawrence’s Sheneneh popped up occasionally in Lawrence’s sitcom Martin, while Fox played Wanda in sketches on In Living Color.

Maybe it’ll be alright, but I have to say I’m cringing inside already and envisioning an even more painful version of White Chicks.

Take a look below to see the Skank Robber movie trailer parody.
