Why doesn’t Milla Jovovich ever get to star in really big movies? She seems to have made a career out of appearing in movies that are ok, but which nobody particularly cares about. It seems she planning to continue this pattern with the news that she’s set to star in the psychological serial killer thriller, Faces In The Crowd.
Variety reports that the film will be written and directed by Julien Magnat, who’s making his English-laguage debut with the movie. The film is about a woman who survives a viscious attack and wakes in the hospital with a head injury that means she can no loner recognise faces (and yes, that can actually happen, it’s called prosopagnosia). Unable to tell who anyone is just by looking at them, she has to try and survive while the killer who attacked her closes in, determined to eliminate this potential witness.
It could be good, but it sounds a bit hokey to us, as if the writer knows that making a character blind seems exploitative, so they’ve gone through the medical dicitionary to find something else someone can be afflicted with. However we’ll be able to see whether it works or not in a year or so, as filming is due to start next March.
