In one of the better casting decisions we’ve heard recently, Variety reports that Zach Galifianakis and Amy Adams are in talks for the film Town House, which is due to be directed by Once helmer John Carney. Sounds like a fantastic screen pairing to us.
The movie, which has been slowly moving towards the screen for over two years, is loosely based on Tish Cohen’s novel, and will see Galifianakis playing an agoraphobic man who lives with his son in a nice townhouse he inherited. However the money he’s been living on since his father’s death is drying up, and so he needs to come to terms with the world. In the book he strikes up a friendship with a call girl, although we wouldn’t be shocked if Hollywood has given the woman a slightly less controversial profession. That said, there’s probably quite a lot of people out there who wouldn’t mind seeing Amy Adams as a call girl.
At the moment the plan is to start filming next summer, with Galifianakis fitting the movie in after he finishes work on It’s Kind Of A Funny Story and Dinner For Schmucks, and before The Hangover 2 (just because he’s not busy enough, he’s also starring in a new TV show called Bored To Death, which he signed up for before he became a star with The Hangover).
