Despite the fact that nobody ever actually seems to go and watch any of Woody Allen’s films any more, he’s still a director that people are endlessly interested in. For a while now, his next film has gone under the rather generic title of Untitled Woody Allen London Project, but that’s now changed, as the movie’s Spanish backers, Media Pro, have announced that the film will be called You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger.
We still don’t know an awful lot about the movie, other than it will star Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts, Gemma Jones, Freida Pinto and Lucy Punch, and that according to THR, it will “revolve around different members of a family, their tangled love lives and their attempts to try to solve their problems”.
The film is set to be the second of four films Allen is making under a deal with MediaPro, which will ensure he stays in Europe for another couple of years at least. You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger is currently scheduled for release next autumn, and will hopefully be one of Allen’s better movies, as he’s certainly had a patchy track record in the past few years.
