None of the actors from Blair Witch really managed to capitalise on the success of the ‘found footage’ movie, however Joshua Leonard’s probably done the best of them, appearing in Prom Night and the recent indie hit, Humpday, as well as guest spots on the like of Bones, CSI: Miami and Hung (he was also the voice of Tyler Durden in the Fight Club computer game).
However he’s now turning his hand to directing (although he’s already made a short and co-directed the documentart, Beautiful Loswers), as Variety reports that he’s lined up his feature helming debut with the independent movie, The Lie. The film will be based on a short story by T.C.Boyle, about a man who tells a lie to get out of work and inadvertently changes his life.
Leonard also co-wrote the script with fellow actors Jess Weixler (Teeth) and Mark Webber (Broken Flowers).
Production is expected to start on the movie this month, with the three writers also appearing in the movie, along with Jane Adams, Kelli Garner, P.J. Ransone, Gerry Bednob and Kirk Baltz.
