Director Neil Marshall set the film world on fire with Dog Soldiers and The Descent, and while Doomsday wasn’t quite as good, it looks like he’s going to be returning in full-on style with Centurion, which is due out next summer.
The movie sees Rome’s legendary lost Ninth Legion (although nowadays people don’t think they really were lost), going beyond the empire’s frontiers and into hostile Pictish country, in what today would be Scotland. It sounds like balls-to-the-walls bloodshed, with Michael Fassbender in the thick of the 2,000 year old action.
Empire has now debuted the first images from the movie, which you can take a look at below, or head over to the Empire website for much larger versions.
