While this has the whiff of a publicity stunt about it, it’s being reported that the police were called to the shoot of a new movie starring Darth Vader actor David Prowse, thinking it was a porn film. Apparently a neighbour had phoned the police when they noticed lights and equipment being taken into a cottage in South Derbyshire, saying they thought a porno was being filmed next door.
The boys in blue then promptly showed up and discovered it wasn’t anything naughty, and the film was actually an action thriller called The Kindness Of Strangers, from director Deborah Hadfield. Prowse will star in the film as the father of a man who travels across Europe in search of his daughter’s killer.
The Darth Vader actor wasn’t present during the incident, but what we can’t understand is why the neighbour thought it was a porn film and why the police turned up to investigate (although apparently they stayed less that five minutes after confirming there wasn’t a problem). Surely it’s not illegal to shoot a porno in a Derbyshire cottage if you want to?
