After finding great international acclaim with The Piano, New Zealand director Jane Campion hasn’t really attracted the same critical or commercial acclaim with any of her more recent movies. However she’s now returning to period drama territory with Bright Star, a biopic about the poet John Keats and his romance with the girl next door, outspoken fashion student Fanny Brawne. However the mismatched pair not only face problems with those around them, but also Keats’ battle against ill health. The new trailer makes the movie look like it’s going to be extremely passionate, with chests heaving and plenty of poetic declarations of love. The film will be screening at the London Film Festival and is out in cinemas nationwide on November 6th. Click below to take a look.
