Variety is reporting that Uma Thurman has signed on to star in Ceremony, which is due to be directed by Max ‘son of The Fonz’ Winkler. The project will be Winkler’s first solo gig as a feature-film director, although he did make The King Of Central Park with David Gelb in 2006. He’s also co-written The Adventurer’s Handbook, which is due to star Jason Segel, Jason Schwartzman and Jonah Hill. Worst of all, Max is only 26.
Ceremony will also star Michael Angarano (The Forbidden Kingdom, Gentlemen Broncos) as a young man who falls for an older woman, to be played by Thurman, who’s about to get married. Normally actresses don’t want to be seen as the older woman, but the rather headstrong Thurman obviously doesn’t mind going a little Mrs. Robinson in this new comedy.
The film will be executive produced by Jason Reitman and is due to start shooting in the next few weeks.
