We can only hope that they’re only doing this to apologise for Lost Boys 2, which marked a new low in the quality of random, straight-to-DVD sequels, but Bloody Disgusting has revealed that the rumoured Lost Boys 3 is not only going ahead and will be filmed this autumn, but will once again star Corey Feldman as Edgar Frog, while Jamison Newlander has agreed to return as his brother, Alan.
And here’s the official synopsis for Lost Boys 3: The Thirst, “When veteran vampire hunter Edgar Frog finds himself destitute and almost friendless, he thinks his live has hit bottom – but wealthy vampire-romance novelist Gwen Liebling offers him a small fortune to go on the vampire hunt of a lifetime and rescue her son Peter from the Alpha Vampire D.J.Dusk. With the help of his friends Zoe, Lars and Blake, Edgar heads into a bloody battle to exterminate evil.”
The movie will be directed Dario Piana, who made the intriguing 2007 movie, The Deaths Of Ian Stone, and will rather randomly be filmed in South Africa in November. Sadly there’s no news on whether Corey Haim will cameo again, which was about the only reason to watch the second movie. Lost Boys 3 will probably once again go staright-to-DVD, so expect it sometime next year.
