They sure do seem to be leaving things late getting people to sign on the dotted line for The A-Team movie. The film is on the verge of starting to film in Canada, but some of the major roles are still in the ‘final talks’ stage. However Variety is reporting that things should be sorted out soon, confirming rumours that District 9’s breakout star, Sharlto Copley, will almost certainly be stepping into the shoes of ‘Howling Mad’ Murdock. He’ll join Liam Neeson as Hannibal, Bradley Cooper as Faceman and UFC fighter Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson as B.A. Baracus.
Also in talks to appear in the Joe Carnahan directed movie is Jessica Biel, who’s carved out an impressive career of being pretty but forgettable in movies ranging from Blade: Trinity to Next. She’ll play an ex-girlfriend of Faceman, who is in some way also connected to the General who is pursuing the team who were convicted of a crime they didn’t commit (Variety suggests she is the General, although she’s a bit young for that).
Hopefully they’ll get all these people signed up soon, so they can actually start principal photography and hit their planned release date of July 30th, 2010.
