News has been coming out of Disney’s D3 Fan Expo that the studio has announced the subtitle for the upcoming Pirates Of The Caribbean 4. Wanna know what it is? (Well, you might have guessed since the name is on the attached picture).
It’s Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and it’s now officially due out Summer 2011.
At the moment the plan is for this to be the first part of a new trilogy, although unlike parts 2 and 3, they won’t be filmed back-to-back, with the studio instead waiting to see how On Stranger Tides does before making the others. Johnny Depp should be back for more Captain Jack Sparrow action, although it’s unlikely that any of the other main characters will return.
The film also currently has no official director. The helmer of the previous movies, Gore Verbinski, left to work on the videogame adaptation Bioshock, but he’s now off that project, so it’s possible he may return. However there’s no official word on that as of yet.
So what do you think? Is On Stranger Tide a good name for a Pirates movie?
