Sultry Casino Royale actress Eva Green has signed up to star alongside Ewan McGregor in a movie that’s currently titled Last Word. The film is about a couple who fall in love while the world around them falls apart and people are slowly losing their sensory perception.
It sounds a bit weird, but I suppose it could work. The movie marks the reteaming of McGregor with directed David McKenzie, who previously worked together on Young Adam, although there’s no news on whether Last Word will feature another appearance by little Ewan, which caused Young Adam to get an NC-17 rating in the US.
The new film will also star Danish actress Connie Nielsen, Trainspotting’s Ewen Bremner and the excellent Stephen Dillane, and has been scripted by the wonderfully named Kim Fupz Aakeson. Although Young Adam was a bit to poncy for its own good, McKenzie’s Hallam Foe, starring Jamie Bell, was excellent, and the thriller Asylum was pretty good too, so hopefully The Last Word will follow the form of those movies. and the presence of Eva Green is certainly good news.
The Last Word is filming now in Glasgow.
