Although it’s been known for quite a long time that Michael Douglas is due to star in Oliver Stone’s sequel to Wall Street, Money Never Sleeps, there’s been little word on whether Charlie Sheen would have any involvement. However now Stone himself has been talking to the New York Times, and has confirmed that Sheen, who played young trader Bud Fox in Wall Street, will indeed be back and is due to film a cameo in the new movie.
Although the article doesn’t exactly say how big Sheen’s cameo will be or what it will involve, it confirms the Two and a Half men star will appear alongside Douglas, Shia Labeouf, Frank Langella, Josh Brolin and Susan Sarandon in the movie, which will follow Labeouf’s Wall Street hotshot character as he tries to navigating the dangerous waters of the collapsing economy, with the help of the now reformed Gordon Gekko. Labeouf will face off against Brolin’s character, who’s the head of an investment bank and the arch-villain of the movie, while Sarandon will be Shia’s mother and Langella his mentor.
Although Wall Street is a movie that doesn’t need a sequel, I have to admit, the more they announce, the more intriguing the whole project sounds.
