The Hangover has proven to be a colossal career boost for everyone involved with the movie. All the films main stars have been lining up major new film roles, with Bradley Cooper joining The A-Team as Faceman, Ed Helms signing up for several new comedies and Zach Galifianakis reteaming with Hangover director Todd Phillips for Due Date and now it’s been announced he’s joining Dinner For Schmucks (they’ll also all be back for The Hangover 2 in 2011).
Schmucks, a remake of a 1998 French film, is about the most pathetic guest ever to grace a weekly dinner party. Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and Lucy Punch have already signed up for the party, with Galifianakis joining to play an assistant manager of a mattress store who is dating Carell’s ex-wife.
The film, directed by Jay Roach (Austin Powers, Meet The Parents), is due to film this autumn, ready for a release next summer.
