Josh Lucas is one of those people who’s never become as big a star as he should have done. He’s been great in small movies Session 9 and Undertow, excelled in supporting roles in Hollywood flicks like Sweet Home Alabama and Hulk, but whenever he’s been cast in starring roles in big movies, they’ve flopped – although that’s certainly not his fault.
He’s been a lot of fun in the likes of Stealth and Poseidon, but the movies themselves have been pretty rubbish, and so he’s stayed on the b-list. Maybe we should campaign for a blockbuster starring him and Steven Zahn and give them both the success they derserve.
Lucas is heading back to indie thriller territory with the annoucement he’s starring in Little Murders, along with Terrence Howard and Lake Bell (two more actors who aren’t quite as famous as they should be). The film, due to be directed by Peter ‘Gaga’ Antonijevic (Savior) and written by Gerald Di Pego (The Forgotten) is set after Hurricane Katrins and follows a disgraced detective (Lucas), who may find redemption when the ghost of a beautiful cellist wants his help to find her killer. Lake Bell presumably plays the cellist, although there’s no news on Howard’s role in the movie.
Sounds like it could be pretty interesting and we certainly like the cast.
