The Hurt Locker certainly seems to have been a good showcase for its stars. A couple of weeks ago Jeremy Renner was apparently been screentesting for the lead role in the new Mad Max movie, and now it’s been announced that Anthony Mackie has joined the cast of The Adjustment Bureau.
He’ll star alongside Matt Damon and Emily Blunt in the adaptation of the Philip K. Dick story about a smooth-talking congressman (Damon) whose political future is thrown in doubt by the arrival of a mysterious ballerina (Blunt) in his life. The movie is due to be the directing debut of George Nolfi, best known as the writer of Ocean’s Twelve, The Sentinel and The Bourne Ultimatum.
While Hurt Locker has certainly made people take more notic of Mackie, he has previously appeared in everything from 8 mile and Million Dollar Baby to Freedomland and Eagle Eye. The Hurt Locker hits UK cinemas on August 28th, but The Adjustment Bureau will be out sometime late next year.
