The cast of Priest is shaping up, with the news that Maggie Q will be joining the already announced Paul Bettany and Cam Gigandet. Priest is an adaptation of a Japanese TokyoPop comic, set in world that’s been ravaged by a war between humans and vampires.
Bettany will play a warrior, vampire-killing priest who teams up with Gigandet’s sherrif character to track down a murderous band of bloodsuckers who’ve kidnapped his niece. So yes, it’s basically The Searchers but with vampires instead in Native Americans.
Maggie Q has now joined Priest’s ranks as a fellow vampire hunter, a priestess, who’s just a badass as the men. Q is probably best know for her roles in Mission: Impossible II and Live Free Of Die Hard, so she’s certainly got some pretty impressive action chops and should make a great addition to the Priest cast.
The movie is due out sometime next year, although at the minute Bettany and Priest director Scott Stewart are busy putting the finishing touches on Legion, a nuts looking post-apocalytic tale about angels with machine guns, which will be out early next year.
