Somebody needs to tell the makers of Streetdance that just because someone’s appeared on Britain’s Got Talent, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they can act. Buy hey, maybe they know something that we don’t, as Streetdance has just started filming in London, which is set to star Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity and George Sampson, along with this year’s fellow dancing finalists, Flawless.
The film is set to tell the story of a street dance crew forced to work with classical dancers to win the UK Street Dance Championships. While it sounds like the most incredibly generic movie ever to have been created, filled with people who probably can’t act (although Charlotte Rampling’s going to be in it, to add a bit of credibility), it does have the distinction of being the first digital 3D live-action movie to be shot outside the US. So if you liked the kinetic dance moves of Diversity on Britain’s Got Talent, now you’ll be able to enjoy them in three-dimensions.
Streetdance, directed by music video duo Max & Dania, is filming now and is due to be released next year by Vertigo Films.
However the real question is, when are they going to make Susan Boyle: The Movie? Although if they do, let’s hope it’s not done in 3D, as we don’t think we could handle that.
