Hmm. That’s my main response to the trailer for Fantastic Mr Fox. While Wes Anderson is well known for harking back to the 70s and 80s in his films, he’s taking things to extremes with Fantastic Mr Fox, which seems to have been animated in a style that wouldn’t have been considered technologically advanced 30 years ago. Although it’s difficult to tell from a two-minute trailers, I’m not convinced whether the framing and low-tech approach will work for two hours, especially in an age where we have the stop motion beauty of Coraline. However there’s certainly a barrage of celebrity voices, including George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Owen Wilson and Bill Murray. Anyway, click below to see what you think of the trailer.
