This is annoying. I’d only just learned about cougars – the American expression for a middle-aged woman who likes to date younger men (maybe I’m behind the times, but it was new to me), but now it appears we might have to start calling them Pumas instead, which is the title of a new film that Jennifer Aniston is attached to star in.
The movie is about two 30-something women who enjoy the attentions of younger gentlemen, but get their romantic expectations challenged when they take a French skiing holiday. At least Aniston’s has a bit of Puma/Cougar experience, as that what many tabloids said about the 40-year-old actress when she started dating 31-year-old crooner John Mayer, although to be honest it’s not like the age difference is that horrific (if she was dating Zac Efron it might be a different matter).
Pumas is based on script by first-time screenwriter Melissa Stack and will be directed by Wayne McClammy, who’s best known for his work on The Sarah Silverman Program.
There’s no news yet on when Pumas might reach cinemas.
