Variety is reporting that director Richard Linklater (School Of Rock, A Scanner Darkly) is nearing a deal to direct Emma Forest’s romantic comedy, Liars (A-E), for Miramax. The movie is about a woman who, on the way to President Obama’s inauguration, retrieves lost items from her ex-boyfriends.
Liars (A-E) is being billed as a quirky indie comedy, and may be a good fit for the director of Before Sunrise. At the moment Linklater’s next movie is due to be a sequel to The School Of Rock, but it’s possible he’ll manage to squeeze Liars in before he makes that film.
At the moment the only role cast in Liars (A-E) is Kat Dennings (Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist) as the heroine’s best friend, although there’s no news yet on who might play the lead, or when the film might appear in cinemas.
