It seems that Darren Aronofsky is keen to get Black Swan made, as he’s now added Mila Kunis to the cast. Although it makes it more likely the director will have to leave the remake of Robocop (MGM is apparently already looking for possible replacements), there’s no doubt Black Swan seems more in the vein of what Aronofky has made before (Requiem For A Dream, Pi, The Wrestler).
Natalie Portman will play the lead in Black Swan as a ballet dancer preparing for a big performace. She finds herself tormented by another dancer (Kunis), although its unclear whether this rival is a delusion or something more supernatural.
The Hollywood Reporter is saying that shooting on Black Swan is due to begin in New York this autumn, but at the moment there’s no news on when it might be in cinemas.
