It’s been announced in Variety that Robert Downey Jr. is joining Zach Galifianakis in Due Date, the new comedy from The Hangover director Todd Phillips, which is due to go into production this September. In the movie Downey will play an expectant father who has to race across the country in order to get to the birth of his child, while Galifianakis will be the mismatched partner who joins him on this quest.
It all sounds a bit Hangover meet Planes, Trains and Automobiles, but that’s not a bad thing, as they’re both very entertaining movies. Phillips has described the film as, “a buddy comedy without the buddies.”
Due date will be in cinemas next summer.
