Todd Lincoln is out and Fredrik Bond is in to direct an adaptation of the comic book, Hack/Slask. Bond is best known for his work on commercials for the likes of Adidas, JCPenney, Pepsi and Volkswagen as well as Moby’s music video for the song Bodyrock, however he’s now set to make his feature film debut on the Rogue Pictures movie (although he’s also attached to a remake of The Host and a redo of The Hunger, which could feasibly go into production first).
The Devil’s Due comic revolves around the tough as nails Cassie, who hunts done monsters, known as slashers, alongside her partner, Vlad (who wears a gas mask and bradishes to meat cleavers).
Bond’s involvement is good news as a film adaptation has been in the works for years, even getting to the point of having a panel at the 2006 San Digeo Comic Con, where the makers said they were planning for a 2008 release. Obviously that didn’t happen, but it now appears things are back on track, although whether Megan Fox is still interested in the role of Cassie, isn’t known.
