Wes Anderson seems to have been working on a stop motion version of Roald Dahl’s fantastic Mr Fox for years, but it’s only now that the first image from the film has been unveiled, over at JoBlo. Given Anderson’s somewhat nostalgic sensibilities, it’s perhaps not surprising that the image makes the foxy family look a little bit like a kids show from the 70s. We’re now awaiting the first trailer to see how they achieve the movement, as it doesn’t look like the film will be using the sort of advanced stop-motion trickery of Aardman’s cartoon.
The movie is due out on October 23rd, with George Clooney voicing the tricksy Mr Fox, who goes up against a farmer that’s fed up with his chickens getting killed. Meryl Streep will play Mrs. Fox, while Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, Anjelica Huston, Willem Dafoe, Adrien Brody and even Jarvis Cocker are also amongst the voise cast.
Prepare to see a lot for from the movie very soon.
