We think we’ve worked out why Lindsay Lohan hasn’t been in any movies for a while. It’s not because she’s a wild child with a bad attitude who nobody wants to employ, it’s because she’s being putting on her lab coat and inventing a tanning spray. You see, when she launched the tanning potion Sevin Nyne in April she said she’d spent three years working on the product with Lorit Simon, a Las Vegas entrepreneur who tans Hollywood A-listers. No wonder she hasn’t had any time to make movies!
However now a chemist called Jennifer Sunday is saying that actually Lohan didn’t invent it at all – a shock I’m sure you’ll agree – and that Lindsay and Simon stole her forumla and are saying it’s their own. She’s suing the pair pair for breach of contract, theft of trade secrets, civil conspiracy, intentional interference with contractual relations and deceptive and unfair trade practices. As her client said, “If Ms. Lohan and Ms. Simon and their companies and their shareholders are profiting from the theft of my client’s formula and are profiting from that product, my client is entitled to those proceeds.”
It would seem therefore that Lohan’s career as a chemist might come to a premature end and as several other celebrities have discovered, there can be unforseen consequences to celebrity endorsements.
