Although it doesn’t look like Wesley Snipes will be involved, but it appears that Stephen Dorff and director Stephen Norrington are trying to put together a prequel trilogy to Blade. The films would follow Dorff’s villainous character from the first movie, Deacon Frost, although presumably he’d have to be the good guy in the new movies.
In an interview with the Sunday Mail for his new film Felon, Norrington said, “It will be a prequel to the Blade movies, Deacon’s story. It’s a new trilogy the director has created. It will be cool. We hope to shoot the first film next year. Frost is a character I have never been able to shake.”
Although Norrington has since said that it’s not quite how that article describes the film, he has said that he is indeed working on a Frost film, crediting Dorff with coming up with the story.
However as the director’s attention is currently on a remake of The Crow, it’s difficult to know when the Blade movie might emerge, and could Dorff play a younger Frost more than a decade on, if the character is a vampire who doesn’t age?
