In what can’t really be surprised as shocking news – despite the fact that each instalment has been worse than the last – ShockTilYouDrop is reporting that Sony is preparing a fourth instalment in the Resident Evil Franchise, which will be released in the US on September 17th, 2010.
Although many, including most of the cast, had suggested Resident Evil: Extinction would be the final film, the movie itself left the door wide open for a sequel and by the end of last year Paul W.S. Anderson was already talking about writing a fourth film for the videogame adaptation franchise. The movie is apparently called Resident Evil: Afterlife, although there’s no news on the plot (we’re assuming Alice clones will be involved though, as suggested in Extinction).
While the studio hasn’t confirmed anything, apparently Milla Jovovich has, including her own involvement in the project. In a Hollywood.TV video from April (embedded below, or click Read More if you’re on the main news page), Jovovich herself says there’s gonna be another Resident Evil movie and it’ll start shooting before the end of the year.
Whether there’s anyone left who wants to watch it is another matter.
