We haven’t seen anything from visionary director Jean-Pierre Jeunet since 2004’s A Very Long Engagement. It’s been a long break for the Amelie, Delicatessen and City Of Lost Children director (let’s just pretend he didn’t make Alien: Resurrection, as that tarnishes an otherwise exemplary record).
However he’s now returning with Micmacs A Tire-Larigot. The first teaser for the movie is now online (you can see it below, or if you’re on the main news feed, click Read More to see it). Unfortunately there’s no English subtitles as yet, but it gives you a decent feel for the film, which seems more in the mould of Amelie than the comparatively serious A Very long Engagement.
The film itself is about a man and his friends who come up with an intricate and original plan to destroy two big weapons manufacturers. As the trailer shows, they’ve got a good reason to, as one of them’s been shot in the head. With the comedy back, it could be another great flick from Jenuet.
