Various reports are suggesting that the hit flick Star Trek may be rolling out for a European DVD and Blu-ray release on October 5th as, for example, Amazon in Germany is now taking pre-orders for that date. While there’s been no confirmation from Paramount as to whether we’ll get the same release date in the UK, some sources suggest that the US release might actually be later in October.
Things should be cleared up in the next few days as we’ve been informed that Star Trek will be available for pre-order from sites like Play.com and Amazon.co.uk from July 3rd.
There’s also been some news on possible special features, with The Digital Bits reporting that a translation of the features on German Amazon suggests a massive list of Blu-ray extras. These will include Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio, an audio commentary with J.J. Abrams, Bryan Burke, Alex Kurtzman, Damon Lindelof and Roberto Orci, six behind-the-scenes featurettes, four ‘Where No One Has Gone Before’ featurettes, seven ‘Starships’ featurettes, five ‘Aliens’ featurettes, nine deleted scenes, a gag reel, a BD-Java Starfleet Vessel Simulator, trailers, an Xbox 360 Star Trek: D.A.C. game trailer and BD-Live options (full a full list of all the featurettes, head over to the Digital Bits).
We’ll bring you the full official list of Star Trek features in the UK as soon as we get it – probably on July 3rd.
