It’s been announced that perky Reese Witherspoon is teaming up with Universal for an aspirational comedy called Pharm Girl. The movie, written by Bad Santa scribes Glenn Ficarra and John Requa is said to follow one woman’s odyssey through the pharmaceutical industry, when she gets a job with a big drugs company but begins to see the dark side of the business as she rises through the ranks.
Doesn’t sound exactly hilarious, but then Bad Santa sounded like a bad idea until you actually saw it. Let’s just hope this is one of Witherspoon’s better efforts, as so far since winning an Oscar for Walk The Line she’s mainly just waltzed through a series of lukewarm performances in a lot of lukewarm movies. Beating up drug companies seems like a good move though, as it’s one of the in things at the moment.
No director or release date has yet been set for the movie.
