What Led To The End Of The World? – New 9 viral site launches

18th June 2009 By Tim Isaac

It’s one of the most intriguing looking movies of the year, and now to ramp up the hype, a new viral site has launched for Sean Acker’s movie, 9, produced by Tim Burton. The CG animated film is about nine burlap dolls that are brought to life by a mad scientist, and who then have to take on a post-apocalytic world overrun by robots. If you wanna know more CLICK HERE to see the fantastic trailer on Youtube – it looks absolutely crazy, but also very cool. After that you can head over to www.9experiment.com, which takes you into the scientist’s lab, where he will chronicle the events that lead up to the opening of the movie (you can also see the trailer there if you like, along with a couple of other clips).

At the moment there’s only a few bits and pieces on there, with intriguing hints about the need for technology and a devastating war that ended ten years before, but over time things will build up as the scientist writes more about his experiments in his journal, produces more designs and lets us into more of the backstory of the film.

If that weren’t enough, the scientist even has his own Facebook page (mad scientists are really into social networking), which is allied to the 9experiment site. You can find it on FB by searching for ‘9 scientist’ and becoming a fan (and become a fan of Movie Muser while you’re at it – you’ll get updates on all our new content),

9 may look utterly bizarre, but it’s also shaping up to be one of the most exciting movies of the year. It’ll be released in cinemas on Septmber 9th.
