Forbes has published its annual list of who’s made the most money in Hollywood, and 2008’s biggest earner was Harrison Ford. He may have only made a single movie, but his lucrative deal meant he walked away with $65 million from Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, which ain’t a bad paycheque by anyone’s standards.
Coming in second was Adam Sandler, who made $55 million from You Don’t Mess With The Zohan and Bedtime Stories, plus his upfront pay for appearing the yet-to-be-released Judd Apatow flick, Funny People. In third is Will Smith, with $45 million, while rather suprisingly in fourth place was Eddie Murphy, with $40 million, despite the fact the only movie he made was the flop Meet Dave. He still earns massive money even though his only successes seem to involve him playing a donkey.
Nicolas Cage, Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, Jim Carrey, Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp also made the top 10, each taking home more than $27 million apiece.
It really is ridiculous you can get paid so much for pretending to be other people in front of a camera, but we don’t imagine many of them are complaining.
