With his production company, Appian Way, seemingly stepping away from a live action adaptation of the classic anime Akira, it appears Leonardo DiCaprio is stepping towards a movie set in the world of online casinos in Costa Rica.
Not a huge amount more is known about the movie, although it was written by Brian Keppelman and David Levien, who’ve been behind the screenplays for the likes of Rounders and Ocean’s Thirteen. They really would appear to be the guys to go to if you wanna make a movie about gambling, although it’ll be interesting to see what they can do with online casinos, as housewives playing bingo in their nighties doesn’t sound that interesting, although we’re sure it’s all a thrill a minute, as there is an absolutely vast amount of money involved.
Let’s just hope the screenwriters have recaptured the magic of Rounders, which is a severely underrated movie.
