While he’s best know for such serious-minded dramas as The Queen, Frost/Nixon and The Last King Of Scotland, it’s now been announced that Peter Morgan will be joining the team penning the next James Bond flick. He’ll join Quantum Of Solace screenwriters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade to work on the as yet untitled flick.
Although it’s not yet known what the film will be about, there’s been much speculation that it may involve Bond dealing with the Afghani poppy fields, which are the world’s largest producer of heroin. Apparently the 007 producers have been talking to British officials in the country with the idea of getting co-operation for the production. If it is taking on such a serious buject, it may be why they felt bringing Morgan onboard was a good idea, as he has a great track record of taking complex subjects and turning them into successful entertainment,
