Although Eli Roth has recently been bigging up his planned new pics, Endangered Species and Thanksgiving (See: Eli Roth Bigs Up His Next Two Films), he’s now talking about making another movie, this one an update of Tobe Hooper’s 1981 slasher pic, The Funhouse.
Admittedly, Roth is rather like Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez, who like to talk about endless projects that disappears in the ether, but he nevertheless told Fangoria that he’s in talks to produce (and possibly direct) a remake of The Funhouse.
The original follows four teens who are stuck in a carnival funhouse overnight and get stalked by a man in a Frankenstein mask. It’s all pretty standard slasher fare and God knows if the remake will ever actually happen, but if it does, Hostel director Roth might be a good man to do it. He certainly likes to drench the screen with blood
