He hasn’t made a feature film since Titanic took over the world in 1997, but it’s now only a few months until James Cameron is set to release his massive 3D sci-fi opus Avatar to the world. Although much of it is still shrouded in secrecy, it is known that Avatar follows a group of humans who end up in a fight with the indigenous population of a distant planet.
Now some concept art from the movie has been released. While not revealing too much, one pic shows what’s been described as a power suit, while the one below features some sort of weird helicopter. With a budget of over $200 million, the vast majority of Avatar will be created inside computers and these pics make it seem like we should be getting some truly immersive environments. Let’s just hope a lot more screens get equipped for 3D between now and the movie’s December 18th release, so everyone can enjoy the full experience.
