Sometimes you have to wonder why they bother announcing films. Roger Donaldson, director of The Bank Job, will be taking on Umbra, described as a paranoid thriller. However that’s about it for details on the project, so we’ll just have to guess what it’s about.
According to dictionary, com, an Umbra is either a shadow, “the invariable or characteristic accompaniment or companion of a person or thing” (whatever the hell that means), the perfect shadow of an opque body in astonomy (such as when the moon goes in front of the sun during a total eclispse), the darkest bit of a sunspot, or a phantom or shadowy apparition.
So that’s quite a lot of stuff the film could be about. We’re voting for is being about the darkest bit of a sunspot, as not enough movies are made about that subject.
