Avengers: Age of Ultron Extended Trailer – Take a look at more from the superheroes

12th November 2014 By Tim Isaac

A few weeks ago we got our first look at Avengers: Age Of Ultron with a trailer. Now a new extended version has arrived, giving us a little bit more of the movie, including more interaction between our heroes.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Marvel Studios presents “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

‘Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” stars Robert Downey Jr., who returns as Iron Man, along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Together with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and with the additional support of Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, the team must reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a terrifying technological villain hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they confront two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and Pietro Maximoff, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and meet an old friend in a new form when Paul Bettany becomes Vision. Written and directed by Joss Whedon and produced by Kevin Feige, Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963. Get set for an action-packed thrill ride when The Avengers return in Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” on April, 2015.’

The Cobbler Trailer – Adam Sandler gets a magical sewing machine

12th November 2014 By Tim Isaac

Adam Sandler seems to be trying something a tiny bit different with The Cobbler, sticking with comedy but adding in a side of whimsy, with the result that it looks like a kids film for adults, at least if this trailer is anything to go by.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘THE COBBLER is a warm and character-driven comedy that plays to the strengths of Adam Sandler’s and Thomas McCarthy’s most commercial successes. Sandler plays a 4th generation shoe-maker who discovers a magical sewing machine in his father’s basement that allows him to transform into other people by wearing their shoes. Similar in theme to Tom Hanks’ BIG, TRADING PLACES, and 13 GOING ON 30, THE COBBLER provides the perfect vehicle for Sandler to exhibit his endearing and selfless boyish charm, taking him on a voyage of self-discovery and learning the importance of family via the magic of “walking a mile in another man’s shoes.” A journey that results not only in changing himself, but the world around him.’

It’s not clear when we’ll see the movie, but take a look at the trailer below.

The Divergent Series: Insurgent Trailer – Shailene Woodley is back in the divided young adult world

12th November 2014 By Tim Isaac

Divergent didn’t get a great reaction from critics, but audiences disagreed, as it grossed almost $300 worldwide and proved that Lionsgate was right to put three sequels into development before the first movie opened.

Now we have the first teaser for the clumsily named The Divergent Series: Insurgent.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The Divergent Series: Insurgent raises the stakes for Tris as she searches for allies and answers in the ruins of a futuristic Chicago. Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) are now fugitives on the run, hunted by Jeanine (Kate Winslet), the leader of the power-hungry Erudite elite. Racing against time, they must find out what Tris’s family sacrificed their lives to protect, and why the Erudite leaders will do anything to stop them. Haunted by her past choices but desperate to protect the ones she loves, Tris, with Four at her side, faces one impossible challenge after another as they unlock the truth about the past and ultimately the future of their world.’

Robert Schwentke (Red) directs the movie, which is due out next March.

New Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb Trailer – Dan Stevens & Rebel Wilson join Ben Stiller

12th November 2014 By Tim Isaac

For Night At The Museum: Secret Of The Tomb, Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, Steve Coogan and Rami Malek are back, along with franchise newcomers like a very suave looking Dan Stevens as Sir Lancelot and Rebel Wilson as a British security guard in a nifty hat.

For this third instalment the action moves to London, with Stiller’s Larry Page and the museum exhibits looking for a way to save the artefact that allows the inanimate to come to life at night. Perhaps they’ll manage to find a point in bringing things to the UK in the actual film, but it comes across as a little pointless in the trailer – even if the Trafalgar Square lions do come to life.

Take a look at the new full trailer below. The movie will be in cinemas at Christmas.

Song One Trailer – Anne Hathaway gets into folk singing

12th November 2014 By Tim Isaac

Anne Hathaway is returning to a musical world for Song One, which got mixed reviews at Sundance, but which some have suggested could find favour with audiences on its release early next year.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Oscar® winner Anne Hathaway (INTERSTELLAR, LES MISERABLES) stars as Franny in SONG ONE, a romantic drama set against the backdrop of Brooklyn’s vibrant modern-folk music scene. After Franny’s musician brother Henry (Ben Rosenfield, BOARDWALK EMPIRE) is injured and hospitalized in a coma following a car accident, Franny returns home after a long estrangement and begins to use his notebook as a guide to how his life has evolved in her absence. Franny seeks out the musicians and artists Henry loved, in the course of her journey meeting James Forester (Johnny Flynn), his musical idol, whose success and fame belie a shy and private man. As a strong romantic connection develops between Franny and James, the question becomes if love can bloom even under the most adverse circumstances.’

Kate Barker-Froyland directs the movie. Take a look at the trailer below.

Anna Kendrick & J.K Simmons Up For The Accountant – They’re in talks to join Ben Affleck

12th November 2014 By Tim Isaac

Just over a month ago Ben Affleck signed up for the thriller The Accountant. Now he’s getting some company, as Variety reports that Anna Kendrick is in talks for the movie, while THR adds that J.K. Simmons may also come onboard.

The film is an action thriller about a mild-mannered accountant who also moonlights as a deadly assassin.

It’s near clear who either of the actors would play, and Kendrick is said to be a way off from signing on the dotted line for the movie at the moment.

Gavin O’Connor (Warrior) s set to direct from a script by Bill Dubuque. The cast should start firming up soon as the movie is due to go in front of the cameras in January.
