Robert Pattinson & Carice Van Houten On For Brimstone – Joining Mia Wasikowska & Guy Pearce

9th February 2015 By Tim Isaac

There might have been a bit of a bromance on the set of The Rover, as Robert Pattinson and Guy Pearce are reteaming for Brimstone. Pearce and Wasikowska have previously been announced, but it’s only now we’ve heard that Pattinson & Carice Van Houten will join them.

The movie is a suspenseful tale of guilt and retribution that unfolds at the end of the 19th century.  It’s described as ‘a dark, violent and epic western about a young woman (and her family) whose lives change drastically when a diabolical preacher comes to town. From the moment the new reverend climbs the pulpit, Liz knows she and her family are in great danger.’

Martin Koolhoven, best known for his work on Winter in Wartime, is writing and directing the movie, which is set to shoot in May. The film is currently looking for buyers at the Berlin Film Festival.

EE BAFTAs Red Carpet Arrivals Gallery – From Henry Cavill to James McAvoy & more

9th February 2015 By Tim Isaac

We were lucky enough to be on the EE BAFTAs red carpet, just next to the photographers’ area, which allowed us to get a good view of the arrivals and take a few candid shots of the celebs.

In fact it was an oddly entertaining place to stand, because everyone wants their photo taken and there are so many famous faces that they have to form a queue – it’s the movie star version of waiting in line at the checkout.

It meant that we were able to snap the likes of Henry Cavill and Rosamund Pike to Benedict Cumberbatch and Mark Ruffalo before they went full glare in front of a thousand lenses, when they were simply waiting for their turn.

There were a few oddities, not least that the most screaming and general hubbub didn’t come for a movie star at all, but was reserved for the arrival of David Beckham.

And I’m also very pleased to have managed to make my own Marvel/DC crossover by capturing The Hulk and Superman in the same shot (aka Mark Ruffalo and Henry Cavill).

Head on over to Facebook to take a look at our gallery.

First Look At Tom Hiddleston In High Rise – Ben Wheatley’s JG Ballard adaptation

7th February 2015 By Tim Isaac

I’d almost forgotten about High Rise, but to remind me the first picture from the movie has arrives, via Empire, showing Tom Hiddleston looking rather moody in an elevator.

The film comes from A Field In England and Sightseers director Ben Wheatley, based on J.G. Ballard’s dystopian novel.

One of the more interesting things is that while there’s been a lot of interest by movie types in the novel over the years, many considered it unfilmable. However now it’s in the can, with Hiddleston starring alongside starring alongside the likes of Jeremy Irons, Sienna Miller, James Purefoy, Luke Evans and Elisabeth Moss.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘High-Rise centers on a new residential tower built on the eve of Thatcher’s England, at the site of what will soon become the world’s financial hub. Designed as a luxurious solution to the problems of the city, it is a world apart.

‘Enter Robert Laing (Hiddleston), a young doctor seduced by the high-rise and its creator, the visionary architect Anthony Royal (Irons). Laing discovers a world of complex loyalties, and also strikes up a relationship with Royal’s devoted aide Charlotte (Miller).

‘But rot has set in beneath the flawless surface. Sensing discord amongst the tenants, Laing meets Wilder, a charismatic provocateur bent on inciting the situation. Wilder initiates Laing into the hidden life of the high-rise and Laing is shocked at what he sees.

‘As the residents break into tribal factions, Laing finds himself in the middle of mounting violence. Violence that he also finds emerging in himself’

It should be in cinemas later this year.

Brad Pitt & Robert Zemeckis Teaming For Romantic Thriller – Working from a Steven Knight script

7th February 2015 By Tim Isaac

It’s always slightly frustrating when a new film is announced but they don’t bother to tell you what it’s about. It happens a lot and now we’ve got another one, as it’s been revealed the Brad Pitt is set to star in a new film from director Robert director.

However on the plot side, the only thing know is that it’s described as an ‘epic story’, and a ‘sweeping romantic thriller’. Rumours suggest it will be set during World War II, although that hasn’t been confirmed (it would make sense though, as Pitt does seem to like WWII films).

Steven Knight will write the script, which bodes well as he’s the man behind Dirty Pretty Things, Locke, Eastern Promises and The Hundred-Foot Journey.
