Dark Places Trailer – Charlize Theron & Nicholas Hoult star in a tale from the author of Gone Girl

20th June 2015 By Tim Isaac

After the success of Gone Girl it was no surprise that Hollywood went looking or more from the novel’s author, Gillian Flynn. A film based on Dark Places is now on its way, starring Charlize Theron and Nicholas Hoult.

And the trailer has arrived!

The movie is about Libby Day (Charlize Theron), who at the age of seven witnessed her mother and two sisters being murdered in The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas. After surviving this horrific ordeal, she testified that her fifteen-year-old brother, Ben (Corey Stoll), was the killer. However, as an adult she begins to believe that someone else may have been responsible.

Hoult plays the true-crime obsessive who ends up getting Libby to look back into her past.

The film is out in the US August 7th, 2015.

Tom Hanks To Play Hudson Hero Pilot – In Clint Eastwood’s next film

20th June 2015 By Tim Isaac

A couple of weeks ago it was announced that Clint Eastwood had found his next film, a movie about the Hero Of The Hudson, Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger.

Based on Sully’s memoir, Highest Duty: My Search For What Really Matters, the film will chronicle what made the pilot an American legend, when he was at the controls of a passenger plane which malfunctioned and was going to crash. However the Captain managed to bring the plane down into New York’s Hudson River.

Whenever a film about Sullenberger has been mentioned,  Tom Hanks’ name has emerged as the main person people thought should play him. Now it seems it’s going to happen, with the man himself in talks to star in the movie.

If he does sign on, it’s not clear when it will shoot, although Clint normally doesn’t need too long to prepare.

Sicario Trailer – Emily Blunt leads Denis Villeneuve’s new thriller

18th June 2015 By Tim Isaac

With Incendies, Prisoners and, to a lesser extent, Enemies, Denis Villenueve has shown he’s one of the most interesting directors around, and you’ve got to think teaming up with Emily Blunt and Benicio Del Toro for Sicario has to be a good idea.

Here’s the film’s synopsis: ‘In Mexico, SICARIO means hitman. In the lawless border area stretching between the U.S. and Mexico, an idealistic FBI agent [Emily Blunt] is enlisted by an elite government task force official [Josh Brolin] to aid in the escalating war against drugs. Led by an enigmatic consultant with a questionable past [Benicio Del Toro], the team sets out on a clandestine journey forcing Kate to question everything that she believes in order to survive. A Lionsgate presentation, a Black Label Media presentation, a Thunder Road production, a Denis Villeneuve film.’

Following it’s Cannes premiere it’s been getting some good reviews. You can take a look at the trailer below, with the film itself due in cinemas later this year.

Hotel Transylvania 2 Trailer – Mel Brooks’ vampire grandfather isn’t one for change

17th June 2015 By Tim Isaac

Hotel Transylvania surprised many when it grossed over $350 million, which was more than enough to ensure we’d be getting a sequel. That follow-up is coming and the trailer has arrived.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Drac’s pack is back for an all-new monster comedy adventure in Sony Pictures Animation’s Hotel Transylvania 2! Everything seems to be changing for the better at Hotel Transylvania…

‘Dracula’s rigid monster-only hotel policy has finally relaxed, opening up its doors to human guests. But behind closed coffins, Drac is worried that his adorable half-human, half-vampire grandson, Dennis, isn’t showing signs of being a vampire. So while Mavis is busy visiting her human in-laws with Johnny – and in for a major cultural shock of her own – “Vampa” Drac enlists his friends Frank, Murray, Wayne and Griffin to put Dennis through a “monster-in-training” boot camp. But little do they know that Drac’s grumpy and very old, old, old school dad Vlad is about to pay a family visit to the hotel. And when Vlad finds out that his great-grandson is not a pure blood – and humans are now welcome at Hotel Transylvania – things are going to get batty!’

The film is due out in October.

Snoopy and Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie Trailer – The characters are going big screen

17th June 2015 By Tim Isaac

Peanuts has never been quite as big a deal in the UK as the US (hence why it’s called Snoopy and Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie over here, as people know the characters more than Charles Schulz’s comic strip), but there will still be plenty of people interested in seeing Snoopy on the big screen.

Now we can get a fresh taste with a great new trailer.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the beloved “Peanuts” gang make their big-screen debut, like they’ve never been seen before, in state of the art 3D animation. Snoopy, the world’s most lovable beagle – and flying ace – embarks upon his greatest mission as he takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis The Red Baron, while his best pal, Charlie Brown, begins his own epic quest. From the imagination of Charles M. Schulz and the creators of the ICE AGE films, SNOOPY AND CHARLIE BROWN: THE PEANUTS MOVIE will prove that every underdog has his day.’

The film is due out just before Christmas.
