New Crimson Peak Poster Arrives – Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain & Tom Hiddleston go gothic

5th August 2015 By Tim Isaac

Everything we’ve seen for Guillermo Del Toro’s haunted house tale, Crimson Peak, has been impressively gothic, and that’s certainly true of the new poster that’s been released and which you can see above.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Legendary Pictures’ Crimson Peak, a co-production with Universal Pictures, is a haunting gothic horror story directed by the master of dark fairy tales, Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy series, Pacific Rim), written by del Toro, Matthew Robbins and Lucinda Coxon and starring Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston and Charlie Hunnam.

‘In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds…and remembers.’

It’ll be in cinemas in October.

Deadpool Trailer – The Merc With A Mouth is here and he’s Red Band

5th August 2015 By Tim Isaac

Over the years a Deadpool movie was in the works many fans were worried that the notoriously sarcastic, rude and violent character would get toned down and made family friendly, much as he was in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

However the first trailer is very keen to show while Deadpool may have come from the X-Men universe, this is going to be an R-rated movie with plenty of blood, bad language and humour – complete with the character’s trademark breaking of the fourth wall.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life. Starring Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano, T.J. Miller and Ed Skrein’.

The movie’s out February 2016.

Fantastic Four Extended Preview – The superhero quartet are back and revamped

4th August 2015 By Tim Isaac

There have been rumours of trouble surrounding the production of the reboot of Fantastic Four, which has led some to write it off already. However reports from a couple of preview screenings have been pretty good, and it may end up surprising even the studio (which seems uncertain about the film).

Now we get our best taste yet with a four-minute extended preview of the movie, which you can take a look at below. It actually looks pretty good – more serious than the last take on the Marvel characters, but still with a sense of fun.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.’

The film is in UK cinemas August 6th
