Concussion Trailer – Will Smith takes on American Football brain trauma

There’s been a lot of talk in the US about the possible effects of playing American Football on the brain, and whether having a career in the game can have massive repercussions for the players.

Concussion wants to take a long, hard look at the subject, with the movie following ‘Dr.BennetOmalu (Will Smith) who – after studying the brains of ex-pros such as Dave Duerson (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) and Andre Waters (Richard T. Jones) – discovers that they were suffering from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a neuro-degenerative disease caused by repeated trauma to the head.

‘The film also stars Luke Wilson as NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, and Albert Brooks and Alec Baldwin as doctors who help Dr.Omaluin his fight for the truth to be known.’

While the zombie apocalypse brings Taipei to the brink of collapse, an apartment block in the corner of the city becomes riddled with crime. But things go from bad to worse when it’s overrun by zombies; infecting the residents, bystanders and even a SWAT team sent in to help. Surrounded by zombies and with no way out but down, the last remaining survivors Andy (Andy On) and Jenny (Jessica C) soon find themselves trapped in an underground arena of the undead. With nothing left to do but fight, can they battle their way through the hordes of zombies and escape the apocalypse?

Zombie Fight Club is out on DVD from 31st August 2015.

Armie Hammer Up For Nocturnal Animals – He joins Jake Gyllenhaal in Tom Ford’s film

A pretty good cast is coming together for Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals, with Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal, Michael Shannon and Aaron Taylor-Johnson already attached to star. Now THR reports that Armie Hammer is set to join them.

Adapted from Austin Wright’s 1993 novel Tony And Susan, Nocturnal Animals sees, ‘The first of the two-part story follows a woman (Adams) who receives a book manuscript from her ex-husband, who she left 20 years earlier, asking for her opinion. The second part revolves around a man (Gyllenhaal) whose family vacation turns violent, which is the story in the manuscript that Adams’ character has been asked to read.

Armie Hammer has signed on to play Amy Adams’ hubby.

Filming on the movie is due to start this autumn.

In the Middle East a new insurgency has begun and at the same time there has been a proliferation of Monsters in that region. The Army decide to drab in more numbers to help deal with this insurgency.

After a NASA deep space probe crash landed in Mexico, menacing extra-terrestrial life forms emerged. Now, so-called ‘Infected Zones’ have spread around the globe. With humanity in retreat in many parts of the world, the US is moving to protect its overseas interests. Giant, terrifying sand bugs infest the Arabian Desert, so troops have been sent in to firebomb the creatures, carting their bodies away on giant trucks to be incinerated. In this hostile environment, two soldiers are sent on a high-risk rescue mission.

Mads Mikkelsen Sought For Doctor Strange – Marvel wants him to play the villain

The cast of Marvel’s Doctor Strange is coming together, with Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role, and Tilda Swinton and Chiwetel Ejiofor set to co-star.

Now they’re closing in Mads Mikkelsen, who is in early talks to play one of the movie’s villains. No offer has been made as yet, but the Hannibal and Casino Royale star is expected to get one soon, according to Variety.

In the film, ‘Cumberbatch will play Stephen Vincent Strange, a former neurosurgeon who becomes the next Sorcerer Supreme and primary protector of Earth against magical and mystical threats. Marvel Comics artist Steve Ditko created the character in 1963. Swinton will play Strange’s mentor, the Ancient One, while Ejiofor will appear as Baron Mordo, who also studies magic under the Ancient One in the comic books, before becoming Doctor Strange’s nemesis.’

It’s not clear who Mikkelsen will play, but it is known he will be a bad guy.
