The Wolfman Featurette – The Look Inside – Look behind-the-scenes with the cast and crew

10th December 2009 By Tim Isaac

With The Wolfman due in cinemas on February 12th, we’ve been sent over a featurette on the film, where the cast and crew talk about the motivation to bring the classic Universal horror character back to the silver screen, as well as a bit about the plot. There’s also a some new footage, ensuring this look behind-the-scenes is well worth a watch. Although the film has been rumoured to have problems, I have to say I still hold out a lot of hope for The Wolfman. Click here to watch the Quicktime featurette

The Sorceror’s Apprentice Trailer – Disney hopes to hit it big with Nicolas Cage doing magic

9th December 2009 By Tim Isaac

One of Disney’s big hopes for next year is The Sorceror’s Apprentice, which gives a modern live action spin to the classic Mickey Mouse part of Fantasia. Nicolas Cage plays a master sorceror in New York, who must defend the city from his arch nemesis, Maxim Hovarth (Alfred Molina). As you might have guessed from the title, the sorceror needs an apprentice, so he recruits Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel), who has hidden magical potential. As the film re-teams Cage (who has eve nuttier hair than normal) with director Jon Turteltaub, expect plenty of overblown action and special effects. Click below to take a look. The Sorceror’s Apprentice hits UK cinemas on August 13th, 2010.

Oil City Confidential Trailer – Julien Temple looks at the rise and fall of Dr Feelgood

9th December 2009 By Tim Isaac

Julien Temple sure loves his documentary about rock ‘n’ roll. Following looks at the likes of the Sex Pistols and Joe Strummer, he returns with Oil City Confidential, about the rise and fall of Dr Feelgood, four men in cheap suits who crashed out of Canvey Island in the early ’70’s and conquered the music world, including no. 1 charts success in the US. However they imploded just as punk was born. With input from the band, as well as members of The Clash, Blondie and The Sex Pistols, it looks like it could be another great music doc from Temple. Click below to take a look. The film hits UK cinemas on February 2nd.

Youth In Revolt Red Band Trailer – Michael Cera’s new film gets a bit more sexy

9th December 2009 By Tim Isaac

The previous trailers for Youth In Revolt have presented the movie as a rather innocent comedy about a shy, nerdy teenager (Michael Cera) who creates an brash alter-ego in order to land the girls of his dreams, but who gets into trouble when his new persona starts running riot. However the new red band trailer reveals it’s a lot ruder that you might have thought, with lots of talk about what sexual things people might like to do to one another. If you’re over 18, click below to have a look. The film is out in the US on January 8th, and should be in the UK shortly afterwards.

Saint John of Las Vegas Trailer – Steve Buscemi and co. have some road trip indie fun

8th December 2009 By Tim Isaac

God bless Steve Buscemi. Although he pops in mainstream movies, he makes an awful lot of indie flicks and has a knack for finding good ones. The road trip comedy, Saint John Of Las Vegas, looks like it should join his list of quirky low-budget treats. He plays an ex-gambler who turns his back on Sin City, only to be forced to return on a road trip that could get him a promotion, but brings him close to the temptations he’s trying to escape. As he meets people along the way, he comes to realise that maybe the best way to deal with his gambling addiction wasn’t to run away from it. With a cast that also includes Romany Malco, Tim Blake Nelson, Sarah Silverman, Emanuelle Chriqui, Peter Dinklage and John Cho, it looks like it could be great fun. Click below for the trailer. While the film will be in US cinemas at the end of January, no UK release is yet set.

Avatar Featurette – Pandora – Signourney Weaver gives us our best look yet at the alien world

7th December 2009 By Tim Isaac

It’s only a week and a half until Avatar finally hits cinemas (it’s out on December 17th in the UK), and while there’s been an awful lot of trailers and featurettes, this is probably the best one yet. With loads of new footage and Sigourney Weaver explaining all about the alien world of Pandora, its animals, environment and exactly why the humans are so desperate to be there, it gives a better look at the film than ever before. Other than the fact that the humans are on Pandora looking for something that has such as immensely cheesy name as ‘unobtainium’, it does all look pretty cool. Anyway click below to take a look at this great new featurette (and sorry about the French subtitles).
