The Bounty Hunter Trailer – Aniston and Butler try a bit of high-concept action comedy

18th December 2009 By Tim Isaac

Here’s a film that seems desperate to show it’s got a little bit of something for everyone – action, comedy, romance, and Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler running around being silly. They star as a divorced couple, with Aniston playing a woman who’s skipped out on her bail, while Butler is the bounty hunter determined to bring her in. It all looks passable enough, in a script-by-numbers predictable way, and the two stars seem to be having a great time, although I won’t buy my ticket just yet.

I do think it’s kind of interesting though how the title changed from The Bounty, which it was first announced as, to The Bounty Hunter, as it shows a shift from Aniston being the focus to Butler. Does it mean his star has grown, or hers has slipped?

Shrek Forever After Teaser Trailer And Poster – First look at ‘The Final Chapter’

18th December 2009 By Tim Isaac

While Dreamworks Animation is promising Shrek Forever After will be the final Shrek movie, as they’re already planning a Puss In Boots spin-off, I wouldn’t be shocked if Shrek 5 turns up in a few years. However now comes the first teaser trailer for the alleged ‘Final Chapter’, which sees Shrek going a bit It’s A Wonderful Life, with the big ogre discovering what would have happened if he’d never gone to Far, Far, Away, and realising that without him there, his friends would be in serious trouble. The first teaser poster for the film has also been released, so you can see that below, and then click underneath for the trailer. Shrek Forever After hits cinemas in May.

The Runaways Teaser Trailer – Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning rock out

17th December 2009 By Tim Isaac

Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart may have appeared in New Moon together, but now they’re out to prove they’re all grown up in The Runaways. They star as Joan Jett and Cherie Currie, who formed the ‘jailbait rock’ group, The Runaways, in the mid-70s, which found success before disintegrating due to the member’s rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle of drugs and excess. The first brief teaser has now arrived, and show Fanning and Stewart rocking out, in a promo that make the film seem more teen flick than it will presumably be. Click below to take a look. The film will be out early next year.

Hot Tub Time Machine Trailer – John Cusack goes back to his 1980s days

17th December 2009 By Tim Isaac

The title Hot Tub Time Machine is enough to make you cringe by itself, and I have to say this trailer hasn’t done much to make me think we may have some kind of secret masterpiece on our hands. Four guys get into a hot tub which turns out to be a time machine that sends them back to the 1980s, and much ‘hilarity’ ensues. About the best thing I can say about this trailer is that’s it’s got Chevy Chase in it being wacky and old. Maybe it’ll turn out to be a brilliant movie, but on this evidence, I don’t thingk Back To The Future will be worrying about its place at the pinnacle of the comedy time travel tree (Hot Tub Time Machine even has BTTF’s Crispin Glover in it, so it seems the makers do want to draw some comparisons). Click below to take a look. The film will be in cinemas in the Spring.

New Clash of The Titans Trailer – Get a better look at the very cool looking remake

17th December 2009 By Tim Isaac

It seems to be the week for action-packed trailers, as a rather manic but very cool new one for Clash of The Titans has emerged. The basic message is still ‘this movie will have lots and lots of special effects’, but they do look like pretty cool effects and there a lot more of them than were in the brief teaser trailer, including a look at the legendary Kraken. It’s also revealed in this new promo that there will be some dialogue and everything in the film, so it looks like we’re getting the full package. Click below to see quite what a vast amount of computer graphics Perseus and his legendary Greek cohorts will be up against when they hit cinemas on March 26th.

Iron Man 2 Trailer – The first look at the 2010 blockbuster is here!

17th December 2009 By Tim Isaac

Ok, are you ready? It’s here! The trailer for Iron Man 2 has dropped, so we now get our first proper look at the upcoming blockbuster. The trailer opens with Tony testifying before a government committee, before showing us a bit of just how cool his life is. Then Whiplach turns up, and suddenly Tony’s life is a lot more complicated and unpleasant than it was before. Embedded below is the US version of the trailer, although MSN has the exclusive on a slightly shorter version, with a tiny bit of different footage. Click below to see all sorts of cool footage, in a trailer that wants to show us a little of everything, from Whiplach and Black Widow to the emergence of War Machine and some insanely explosive special effects. Iron Man is in UK cinemas on April 30th.
