They’re doing a great job of using the internet to increase interest in the upcoming historical, supernatural action flick Solomon Kane, and the latest bit of hype is a behind-the-scenes featurette about the massive fights in the film. It’s a fascinating look at the movie, including shots of Kane battling with a man who’s completely on fire (which wasn’t achieved through CGI). The movie itself follows James Purefoy’s title character, who’s fighting as a mercenary for Elizabeth I in Africa when he encounters a demon and realises he must find redemption or be damned to hell. Solomon Kane is due in UK cinemas of February 5th, but click below for the great featurette. You can also CLICK HERE for a film clip and trailer.
New How To Train your Dragon Trailer – Fresh look at Dreamworks latest animated treat
This must be Dreamworks Animation’s most Disney-esque trailer so far, particularly as it starts with comparisons to other Dreamworks movies like Shrek and Madagascar. The film, based on Cressida Cowell’s books, tells the story of young Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, who isn’t particularly keen on the whole dragon-killing culture of his clan, and after failing to slay one of the might beasts, ends up taming and befriending it, which turns his whole world upside-down. It’s not a bad trailer, although the main dragon itself does look a bit like a black blob salamander. The film will be in UK cinemas on March 31st, but click below for the new trailer.
New Inception Trailer – Christopher Nolan’s latest – now in English!
If you’ve been following Movie Muser you may recognise the footage in this new trailer for Christopher Nolan’s new movie, Inception, as it’s the same as was in the French-language trailer we put up a few days ago. However now the English-language version has arrived, so you can find out what on Earth they were talking about. If you were hoping it would explain what the movie is all about you’ll be disappointed, other than we get to see that Leo DiCaprio is very impressed by ideas, and he wants to steal one from somebody’s mind. To be honest, hearing it in English does make me worry that Inception may be a bit poncey, but it nevertheless looks very cool, with Leo giving some of the rules for how to hide while people are running around in each other’s mind. Click below to watch. Inception hits UK cinemas in July.
Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time Featurette – Take a look at the powers of the Dagger Of Time
Studios are getting increasingly paranoid about launching new franchises and as a result the hype is starting earlier and earlier. Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time may not arrive in cinemas until May 28th, but Disney is already in full swing on the marketing of the movie, with the release of trailer, posters, images and featurettes, in the hope that it can get the groundswell of interest it needs to turn the film into a massive hit. The latest featurette to emerge looks at the Dagger of Time, which gives the holder the ability to travel through time. The promo features some nifty footage and is well worth a look is you want to see what we can expect from the videogame adaptation. Click below to take a look.
Cop Out Trailer – First look at Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan in Kevin Smith’s latest
It might have been through a few names, from A Couple Of Dicks to A Couple Of Cops, but it seems they’ve now finally official decided on the final title for Kevin Smith’s upcoming movie – Cop Out – as they’ve released the first trailer with that name attached. The film stars Tracy Morgan and Bruce Willis as two policemen on the trail of a stolen, rare, mint-condition baseball card who find themselves up against a merciless, memorabilia-obsessed gangster. The trailer has its tongue firmly stuck in its cheek, and makes it look like the film could be a lot of fun. Cop Out hits UK cinemas on February 26th.
Repo Men Red Band Trailer – Jude Law and Forest Whitaker get futuristic and steal people’s organs
Nope, this futuristic thriller doesn’t have anything to do with the Alex Cox film, although it does have a premise vaguely similar to Darren Lynn Bousman’s bizarre gothic musical from a couple of years ago, Repo!: The Genetic Opera. Jude Law and Forest Whitaker play repo men for organ transplant company, The Union, who are sent in to get organs back if people can’t keep up the payments. This rather violent Red Band trailer gives us our first look at the film, and sees Law finding himself on the other side of the equation, when The Union want his heart back. Click below to take a look if you’re over 18. The film will be in cinemas in the spring.
