Sex and the City 2 Trailer – The girls are back and going on holiday

9th April 2010 By Tim Isaac

What happens after you get married? That’s the question being asked in Sex and the City 2, and the answer seems to be that you go on an all expenses paid trip to Abu Dhabi. This first proper trailer for the movie offers plenty of footage of the girl’s return, including the news that while Carrie may now be married to Mr. Big, that isn’t going to stop her playing with fire with old flame Aidan Shaw (John Corbett). The trailer also shows off the numerous star cameos, including Penelope Cruz and Liza Minelli. Click below to take a look. Sex and the City 2 hits UK cinemas on May 28th.

Prince Of Persia Featurette – Story – Bruckheimer and co. discuss the film’s plot

7th April 2010 By Tim Isaac

It’s been noticable that while Disney has released all sorts of featurettes for the upcoming Prince Of Persia: The Sands of Time, none of them has really talked about the plot that much. Instead they’ve focussed on the action and special effects. Thankfully, now they’re trying to suggest there will be a story with their latest featurette. It may not be the most in-depth dissection of the movie but it tells us a bit more about what the flick is actually about, and offers plenty of spectacular footage, so click below to take a look. Prince of Persia hits cinemas on May 21st.

Dinner For Schmucks Trailer – First look at the Steve Carell and Paul Rudd comedy

7th April 2010 By Tim Isaac

Steve Carell is preparing to release his inner weirdo with Dinner For Schmucks, which is about a rising executive called Tim (played by Paul Rudd) who thinks his career’s getting a boost when he’s invited to his boss’ special monthly dinner, an event where everyone must bring the most peculiar person they can find, so everyone else can laugh at them. Tim thinks he’s found the perfect person to take, Carell’s Barry, although as he’s a walking disaster area, things prove trickier than expected. A remake of a French flick, Dinner For Schmucks is due for release in the UK on August 20th, but now the first trailer has been released, which suggest the film might be funny, but it could also be rather cringe-inducing. I Am Love Trailer – Tilda Swinton goes Italian

6th April 2010 By Tim Isaac

If there’s one thing you can say about Tilda Swinton, it’s that she rarely does the expected. That’s certainly true with I Am Love, where she plays a Russian immigrant to Italy, speaking three languages and dealing with a Italian director and cast. She certainly doesn’t seem to care about making life easy for herself if the role is right. The film tells the story of the wealthy Recchi family. Eduardo Sr., the family patriarch, has decided to name a successor to the reigns of his massive industrial company, surprising everyone by splitting power between his son Tancredi, and grandson Edo. But Edo dreams of opening a restaurant with his friend Antonio, a handsome and talented chef. At the heart of the family is Tancredi’s wife Emma (Tilda Swinton), a Russian immigrant who has adopted the culture of Milan. An adoring and attentive mother, her existence is shocked to the core when she falls quickly and deeply in love with Edo’s friend and partner Antonio, and embarks on a passionate love affair that will change her family forever. The movie opens in the UK on Friday (April 9th, 2010), but click below for the beautiful looking trailer.

Twelve Promo Trailer – Joel Schumacher and Chase Crawford get gritty

6th April 2010 By Tim Isaac

I’m voting for a new law that bans Joel Schumacher from making big budget movies, as when he’s working with limited resources, such as on Veronica Guerin, Tigerland, Flawless and Phone Booth, be normally comes up with something interesting, but give him loads of cash, such as on his Batman movies and Phantom Of The Opera, and the results are hideous. Twelve thankfully looks like it could be one of the former, as despite the presence of Gossip Girl hunk Chase Crawford, it appears fairly gritty and more intriguing than your usual teen flick. The film follows a high school dropout turned drug dealer. His lucrative life sours when the dealer’s cousin is brutally murdered on an East Harlem playground and his best friend is arrested for the crime, although as the film suggests, there’s a bit of romance thrown in as well. The trailer that’s just popped up online is actually a promo designed to get distributors interested in the movie, but it’s well worth a look. As yet no release date has been set for the film.

The Rebound Trailer – Catherine Zeta-Jones goes for a younger man (for a change)

5th April 2010 By Tim Isaac

With every comedian on the planet having a full arsenal of jokes about how Catherine Zeta-Jones is much younger that Michael Douglas, she seems to be fighting back with a movie where she’s the older one. She plays Sandy, a beautiful, smart, suburban 40-year-old mother (Catherine Zeta-Jones) discovers her husband is cheating, she takes her two children to New York City to start over. Her new job forces her to hire a nanny, the directionless but charming 25-year-old Aram, (Justin Bartha) who is still trying to figure out what he wants in life. As Aram increasingly becomes attached to her kids, Sandy becomes aware of her growing attraction to Aram! The romantic comedy is out in cinemas in July, but click below for the trailer.
